Vocabulary

abdomen, belly, stomach

Hello! Could you help me, please, with the words abdomen, stomach and belly? In the book "Wordbuilder" they give a picture where abdomen is the upper part , belly is the lower part and stomach is both parts. Is this correct? May the word stomach mean the same as abdomen, I mean not only the inner part of the body, but abdomen+belly? Thank you!

The stomach is the organ in which food is digested. Informally people refer to it as the protrusion on the front part body in front of the stomach. People who exercise have flat stomachs.
