Both are used.

If I wanted to be very precise, I'd say eg I bought it at ABC.

Does this apply to school too?

For example, I study at Stalford Primary School / Stalford primary school. (Either way is OK.)

If the words 'Primary School' are part of the official name (as they probably are), then use capitals.

In your original example, you said the name was ABC. You didn't say the name was ABC Shopping Centre.
