can anyone help me with this sentence?

' Dreams they fade away over time, but the shadow remains.'

Is this sentence correct or do i need to rephrase it?

It's OK, and quite a nice idea. Just add a comma, as shown.

"Dreams—they fade away over time, but the shadow remains."

That's how I would phrase it, but em dashes aren't to everyone's liking.
