abbreviation quandry

Is the original word or phrase a definition for its abbreviation? example: Would "Minimum Order Quantity" be a "definition" for MOQ? also how is the reverse flow of the relation ship called between the two? MOQ is an abbreviation to Minimum Order Quantity, but what is Minimum order Quantity to MOQ? "Common extended word"? "Common stands for word"?

Thank you for the quick answer. I think another approach to ask my question is, can you call an inadequate definition a definition? MOQ has at least 10 meaning (as you put it)
MOQ: Minneapolis Observer Quarterly***
MOQ: Minimum Order Quantities***
MOQ: Milliy Olimp

Anonymous can you call an inadequate definition a definition?
Of course. Just as you can call a bad egg an egg. But just call it a 'full phrase' if you like.
