Abbreviation

What is the correct abbreviation for "number" where it denotes a sequential numerical order as in concert number 4, denoting that it refers to the fourth concert in a series.

I don't think there is a 'correct' one, but on my Saint-Saens CD here, it is 'Sonata for Violin and Piano Op.75 No.1 in D minor'.

I am not familiar with 'Nr' at all-- I don't think I've ever seen it. Just 'No.' and 'no.'
