I am not sure that I understand your question. Grammar is the same when you are writing or speaking.
You would not always use a/an in a sentence it depends on the nature of the sentence.

Take a simple noun like apple for example?

Can I have an apple please?
No not that apple, I would like a red apple.
He tried to give me a green

thank u so much [Y]
but why u didn't use anwhen u say ( i hate apples ...)? Emotion: indifferent

Because "apples" is plural. When we are talking about things in general we use plurals.

If we were talking about a particular apple then you would say "I hate that apple".

I like apples. _ a general statement
I want an apple. - any apple but only one.
I want a red apple. - any red apple.
I want that apple. - a particular apple - the one
