A writing task 1 essay needs some help from people !

Thanks for your feedback. I would like to ask you a question : Is "there is" used when we describe about a single thing ? I read your comment : "there is a hotel , a park ..." and I was surprised because of this usage . Another question is : Is "there are" used when we want to describe something as a group ? For example : there are many facilities and trees here.
