How about rephrasing as belows. Are they grammatically correct and understandable?

A. He has three times as many books as I have. ----> He has books three times as many as I have.

B. A whale is no more a fish than a horse is. -------> A whale is a fish no more than a horse is.

This time, my expectation is not met.... (i.e. I made a wrong assumption that I was writing correct sentences, which turned out to be wrong).
