A well-known vs. THE well-known

Hello!
I was wondering which article would be the most appropriate in this case.

The author of a well-known book "Martin Eden"....
OR
The author of the well-known book "Martin Eden"...

It feels that the first is right, however, the one with the seems reasonable for the fact that we talk about some specific book.

You're referring to a specific book, so use "the."

The author of a well-known book "Martin Eden"....

To me this is not wrong, but it implies that you think the reader does not know this book.
