A weird Home

Hello,

Could you please correct my mistakes here?

Ten years ago we bought a new flat. Shortly after some strange things began to happen.

Every morning and every evening(is the second every necessary?) we would hear a strange sound from our wardrobe at a definite time: 7:30. It was like a tapping on the door. I would be awakened by someone running upstairs almost every morning. It was like a child's footsteps,(about 1-2 years old) of a child who had just began to walk.

As we found out later the family living above had no children of this age. A neighbor ('of ours'- is it necessary to use?) told us later that many years ago a woman dropped her grandchild from the second's floor balcony. And we decided that perhaps it was that child's soul.

A lot of different things began to disappear at our home. One of them was a small carpet, peeler, and a baby's dummy. We even asked a priest to sanctify our flat but it didn't help.

After the dummy disappered we didn't hear the baby's footsteps.

Things are still disappearing and that strange sounds can still be heard.

Is it also possible to say : Both the disapperance of things and strange sounds/noises are still present at our home?

Thank you!

Is it better to say including a carpet, peeler and a baby's dummy?

Is it necessary to use ''a'' before dummy?
