A visit to the dental's

Please help me to correct them, thanks!!

(a) Last Sunday night, it was chilly and cold. Peter tossed about in his sleep / in bed all night and could not sleep well. He felt a sharp pain in his teeth. He realized that he had a bad toothache. He cried out for help. His mother came to him when she heard his terribly scream. He quickly took a painkiller to stop his pain, but it could not work at all.

(b) The next morning, his mother decided to take him to the dentist’s nearby. When they reached the clinic, there were no patients there. After the registration, they sat patiently waiting for a call. Luckily, he was the first patient (to be called).

(c) He panicked when the dentist examined his rotten teeth. The dentist gave him a piece of advice taking / to take / eat more healthy food and brushing teeth after meals. After that, he gave Peter an injection and pulled it out. Luckily, he was not in pain / it was not painful. Soon, he went home with his mother happily.

(a) People might more commonly say "Peter tossed and turned in his sleep" or "Peter tossed and turned in bed all night". However, either of the original choices you gave would be understood fine. - You wrote "his terribly scream".

  • "Terribly" is an adverb (a word that describes a verb), "terrible" is an adjective (a word that describes a noun) which is what I think you meant.
