Vocabulary

a verb or phrasal verb if you want someone to come back

I will describe the situation.

One day my brother got late to return home. I made a call to his mobile which somehow he was not able to attend. After returning back, he asked me why I called him. I thought about the reply but was not able to reply in English but replied in my mother tongue. Actually I got stuck. What could be the reply according to you?

for e.g. I called you to send for you.

or

I called you to call you back.

or

I ringed you to call you.

Thanks a lot.

Waiting for your reply.

I don't know why you called - was it to ask, to request, or to require his

I ringed you to call you.

ring - rang - rung

there is not ringed, you should use 'rang', to sound grammatically correct.
