A verb or a noun?

"She will stand by husband, despite reports that he sent another woman love notes."

Can anyone please tell me the word "reports" here, is it to say the "she" as the subject reports to someone that, her husband send another woman love notes, which the word is used as a verb, or it is used as a noun, just means several reports she has got that her husband send another woman love notes?

Thanks heaps!
