A "vast" language?

What does it mean to describe a spoken language as "vast"?

I don't understand this,

does it mean that the language can be used to express multiple subject matters of different kinds?

Also I don't understand how a language can be described as "vivid", either.

(In my opinion, something vivid can only be referred to as something that involves action

such as motion picture, though.)

Here, I suppose that 'vast' means it has a large vocabulary and many regional differences. 'Vivid' has nothing to do with motion; it means clear, strong, distinct, with memorable images.
