A tricky one... maybe

Hi

I want to express this concept:

"I began to feel really old the moment I realized that I had lived more years than the amount of years between the end of World War Two and the day of my birth."

How would you say that? Is the phrase above acceptable? I'd like to say that in the simplest way possible. Can you help?

It makes no sense. Suppose you were born in September, 1950. WWII ended in September, 1945. You began to feel really old when you were 5 years old!
