a top to return

I have a feeling that’s a pretty relatable sentiment because according to this infographic and a commonly accepted rule of thumb, it takes a total of 10, 000 hours to become an expert at a given task. Who has that kind of time? I’ve got stuff to do. No, really. My laundry pile is ridiculous. I have a top I need to return to Target.

I don't know if it's a idiomatic phrase. Could you tell me what it means?
Is it related to 'laundry pile'?

In this context, "a top" most likely refers to an outer garment that covers the top part of the body, i.e., from neck to waist, usually for women. It could be a blouse, for example. Apparently the top was purchased at a Target (name brand) store and was found unsatisfactory, so it will be returned to the store.

Holy ***! So it's a brand of garment! I consider it as the original meaning... Thank you.

A type of garment, not a brand. Brand names are like "Fitch Brothers", "Nike", "Sarah Allen", "Lee", etc. Types of garments are shirts, pants, blouses, skirts, etc.

Eh...Target is originally the name of a retail store! I just know it... I mistook it as a garment brand. Thank you.
