A tiny question

Is it appropriate/correct to place "but" and "on the other hand" in the same clause(not this one, though)?

Such as " The timeline feature of Facebook is definitely eye-catching in that it integrates almost every single detail of the person's info but definitely makes a great eye-straining exercise on the other hand."?

Hi, It wouldn't sound odd to say something like that. It just makes the contrast sound more emphatic. Clive

Thank you, Clive.

I thought of another question,

that is,

would it be correct to drop the comma and substitute "and" for the "but" there?
