Which of these sounds best?

a)
Immersed in stagnant, deathly tone, she sank deeper and deeper into a chaotic state of mind.

It's for a creative writing class that deals with poetry—and in poetry you have a lot of leeway to say what you can and cannot be immersed in

If this is free verse or cutting-edge prose, then you can get away with a lot. Any of the three would be okay in that situation. Without further context, I would say that a sounds the "most poetic."
