A terrify night

One hot and stuffy Sunday night, Peter was alone at home. His parents went out to attend wedding dinner . When he enjoyed watching television, he heard some footsteps sound coming from the corridor. He alerted someone standing outside his house. He trembled / quivered/ shivere at that time.

He quickly switched off the TV and hid behind a cupboard with tremble / quiver / shiver. He called the police on his mobile phone about the incident happened. After that, he squatted (down) behind the sofa and peeped through the window. There was a bald man looking suspicious paced up and down along the corridor.

After 15 minutes, the police arrived (in a patrol car). Peter opened the door for the police. They went in (to the back door) and saw the burglar trying to climb in (the house) through the window. The police caught him red-handed. Peter thanked them for their help. When his parents came back, he told them about the incident. It was really a terrify experience.
