1) I saw both prepositions on the Internet! Which one is correct?
2) Is my sentence is proper?

I think the different is that tendency for people...means that you try to influence in these people, and tendency of people...means that these people try to influence in others.

Sentence #1 is fine. Sentence #2 needs to have the second "is" deleted.

AvangiWe'd say, "He has a tendency to eat too fast." There is a tendency for people to eat too fast. I notice the tendency of people to eat too fast.These are all okay.I'd use a different preposition in each case.
Technically you are using "to" as the preposition in all of those cases. "for people" and "of people" are just small prepositional phrases that fall
