A table free vs. a free table

Hi,

please, are these two the same thing?

"We can try that restaurant, but they may not have a table free."

If I changed it into "....... a free table.", would it still be the same, or would it suggest "free of charge"?

Thanks for your comments.

It would be the same. The context tells you that. (Restaurants never charge for the table you sit at. They only charge you for the food and drink.)
