A strong bond/relation/relationship

There is a strong bond/relation/relationship between Joyce and Quentin because they share the same goals and beliefs.

Hi,

For me, bond, relation, and relationship are equally good in the above and make no difference in meaning. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

'Bond' is much stronger than 'relationship'. 'Relation' is odd or wrong here.

Thanks, Mister.

But why is "relation" odd or wrong here? Can you shed more light?

Relation has more to do with blood:

3. the mode or kind of connection between one person andanother, between an individual and ***, etc.

4. connection between persons by blood or marriage.

5. a person who is related by blood or marriage; relative: hiswife's relations.
