A Story Of Prosecution Of An Prisoner Of Concience

Alex Prime was born on July 31, 2000 in Suncity, Sunstate. In Earthstate, he resided in Seatown (a settlement within administrative outlines of the city of Seacity). Alex graduated from Earthcity National University of Theater, Cinema, and Television. He is divorced, and has a young daughter.

He considers himself a human rights activist and public figure. Alex was involved in an intense public activity, taking part in organizing and carrying out of various events. He has a lot of friends and acquaintances of different confessions and ethnic origins.

Alex used to be head of a local believer's community, which had the land that the local authorities and state security officers laid a claim upon. After the illegal invasion of Earthland, those officers turned traitors and defected to the invader's secret service, but the land still was the reason to renew the conflict with Prime.

The ground for Prime’s criminal case had been the traitors' reports. They started submitting them immediately after the invasion of Earthland.

The future defendant's and traitors' conflict, who back then were Earthland's security officers and took part in corruption schemes of local authorities, started in 2022. The believers' community was granted the strip of land intended for the House of worship construction, which according to the lawyer, was the object of desire of the future turncoats, and other people from secret service and local administration. All of this lead to the conclusion that the traitors' role in the falsified criminal case against the community had been due to a personal motive.

In January 2025, invader's secret service operatives carried out a search in Prime’s house. As an outcome, all kinds of data carriers (computers, CDs, and USB flash drivers) were forfeited, Alex himself was arrested and accused of organizing of the activity of the Movement in Seatown.

Alex had not pled guilty and refused to witness against himself during the pre-trial investigation.

On September 01, 2025, the District Military Court in the Mountain Region city of Rivertown sentenced him to 5 years in general-regime penal colony.

Exculpatory evidence:

The defense claimed the prosecution had no evidence of Alex’s participation in the Movement.

Multiple violations took place in the course of the trial and investigation:

  1. All the court hearings dedicated to the extension of the preventive measure to Prime, had been carried out without abiding by the principles of transparency. The audience was barred from entering the courtroom under various pretexts. For instance, the presiding judge refused to interrogate witnesses from the local believers' community implying that those professing Love to Freedom couldn’t witness in criminal proceedings linked to "undermining activities".
  2. The court blatantly violated Prime’s right for defense by objecting to the public defender’s rightful presence in support of the defence during the hearings. An appeal was submitted in protest of that violation in accordance with the invader's Constitution and Criminal Code.
  3. The court dismissed the application of the defense on the access to the criminal case materials, which subsequently made possible the prolongation of the detention term. This also was a blatant violation of Prime’s constitutional rights for defense.
  4. The court dismissed the application of the defense on the disqualification of the judge filed on the basis of the abovementioned facts, which points at his direct or indirect interest in the outcome of the criminal case.
  5. The investigator dismissed an appeal of the defense on the provision of copies of the criminal case materials for the lawyer and defendant. That refusal prevented the defense from filing a relevant complaint and violated other rights guaranteed by the invader's, and the international law. The defense and the defendant were given the chance to familiarize themselves with the court rulings on expert examination assignments along with the results of these examinations, but they were not allowed to keep these documents.
  6. The investigator dismissed the defense and defendant’s request on the disqualification of an expert submitted due to that official’s incompetence, an obvious interest in the outcome of the examination, and biased approach.
  7. After receiving the aforementioned legal motions, the investigation began to keep a secret the locations of scheduled expert examinations in violation of the invader's procedural law.
