A "steepled" community?

What's a steepled community?

Does that mean that the community has a central green or a central main area?

I seriously don't understand this.

I would guess that it's a community with many churches (with steeples), or with one central church (with a steeple). In either case, the steeple(s) must be one of the most obvious things you notice about the community.

Me neither. I would guess as CJ did that the church is the center of the community with a steepled roof.
