Which one is correct ?

A statistic of the amount of the patient caused from marijuana in the past 10 years.

or

The statistic of the amount of the patient caused from marijuana in the past 10 years.

Do you mean 'number of patients', Nor Priest? We do not usually use 'statistic' in the singular, even though it can be used so. Perhaps you mean this?—

Statistics on the number of medical marijuana patients for the past 10 years.

Or did you have something else in mind?
