Speech: Can breaking the law to help animals ever be justified?
Good morning. Today, I stand before you appalled at the hippie do-gooders who are putting lives at risk. Recently, flocks of wild chicken were released onto our busy roads. This was no accident. The do-gooder activists are the responsible culprits for this crime. Are we going to let his behaviour continue?
Breaking the law can never be justified. Laws and rules are made to be obeyed so our society can operate in the safest way possible. Yet, these antisocial rebels chose to ignore the laws, as well as the safety of innocent people and property. Do they not realize that their actions could have caused serious injury? Or do they simply choose to protect animals and sacrifice humans?
I ask you now to all imagine driving on the deserted road where the chickens rampaged, unthinking and visceral to any consequence. Imagine sitting relaxed, in the back seat of your car, when from nowhere an insane chicken leaps onto your windscreen, shattering the glass and causing severe damage to you and your loved ones. Not a pretty sight. Would you have liked to be on the road with these raging chickens? I didn’t think so.
Serious damage could have resulted – over chickens. Breaking the law, may have ended a totally innocent human’s life. And the chicken is not to blame. When somebody gets shot by a bullet, we do not convict the bullet. We convict those who released the bullet. In this case, the Animal liberationists are to blame. We must not allow there unruly actions to persist. Do you want to be struck by a chicken? Or even worse, they might release bigger and more destructive animals.
In 2001these extremist rescued 3000 Minks, 1047 ducks, 469 chicken and 200 horses, just to name a few. They have also invaded 10 fur stores, 7 research labs, and strangely 3 takeaway pizza outlets and 3 Ice cream shops. If we let the liberationist continue, there desire to protect every animal will grow. Soon enough, everyone will be forced to become vegetarians. Can you imagine going to McDonalds, and the only food in stock are ‘chips’? Can you imagine being feed vegetables and a side dish of grass every night for the rest of your life? A shocking thought indeed. Obviously, the do-gooders are prepared to selfishly change the world, to suit animals rather then humans. I fell our world is being taken over.
As a proud Australian, I am very passionate about sports. At school, all I do at the recess and lunch intervals is playing a game of basketball or cricket. However, to contribute in these sports, lots of energy and strength is required. Chicken meat is a tasty and important meal, which is filled with substantial proteins to make bodies stronger. Without some healthy meat in my body, I will suffer from constant fatigue and will not be able to perform as well as I do in sports. Imagine going to the gym, and not lift more then 20 kg, or eating your salad sandwich when suddenly you stumble to the ground due to strong wind. Do you wish to be weak? N-N-O-O. If Animal do-gooders get their way, we will face new generations of weakling. Our rugby team will be crushed by the New Zealanders and South Africans. For some of us, sport is an escape from studies and all other pressure; Of course we all want to do the best we can. Meat is needed to bring out the best, in all of us.
Animal liberationist must be stopped. These rebels are spitting in the face of the law. There reckless behaviour will bring chaos to our innocent streets. If their desires are fulfilled then I fear for future generations. Their claim of ‘breaking the law was justified’ is nothing but a cover-up to hide their true intentions. For those who own a pet, please never take your eyes of them. You never know, your very own pet goldfish may be stolen.
