Vocabulary

a sophisticated game

Hello,
There's a shooting game in which the player has to take into account a variety of factors: muzzle velocity, wind speed, recoil, scope wobble, scope zoom, muzzle flash, distance, etc. The shooting in it is very well made and the game is quite realistic. Is it correct to call that game "sophisticated"? I'm not saying it's wrong, but I usually hear "a game with improved mechanics", or simply "a very realistic game". Is sophisticated the word of choice in everyday English?

I'll take your word for 'improved mechanics', but yes.

I read "improved mechanics" in a PC magazine a few months ago. The shooting games (shooters) used to be totally different and we didn't have to take anything into account (wind, muzzle velocity, etc). I would personally use "realistic" which is not exactly a gaming term, but describes the game perfectly.

Yes, that is the most simple and direct approach.
