A small margin

Hello,

So, here's the context:

A: I failed my exam...I only needed ten points, arghhh....

B: Well, that's a small enough margin. I am sure you'll pass next time.

Does B's first sentence sound okay to you? I usually encounter margin in contexts in which there's some sort of competition. (sports, elections, polls, etc) The meaning's pretty clear, so I am asking out of curiosity.

Thank you in advance.

Gene93 Does B's first sentence sound okay to you? Yes, provided both A and B are aware of the fact that ten points on this particular exam is not a lot compared to the total number of points possible. I think we can only assume that they are aware of this.
