A Simple "Will" or "Going To" Question

Hi All

I have simple question. Which one is correct?

They won't have an exam on May 21st.

They are not going to have an exam on May 21st.

It seems like a matter of schedule but the sentence is negative so there is no schedule and it confuses me.

Thanks

A lot depends on the context, but aren't going to seems more natural to me.
