Hello to you guys, and happy holidays to all the people all around the world, especially those who are here in this forum and more specifically those who are reading this post.
I think it's enough with the greetings and I have to ask my simple question, but it has got an introduction. Has it ever happened to you, like, you are reading a book and feel how original it is, and you know that the writer has to be a 100% American and his parents and grand-parents and even before those, lived in the US for centuries. And you don't want to put the book down till you are finished with it. For me yes, it has happened a few times. But the reverse thing, has happened more than the mentioned case, though. Maybe because I live outside the US, or maybe I am not good at choosing the right writer, who is able to touch my soul and let me feel how it is to read a well written book.
Anyways, I was reading this book, and after something like 5 or 6 seconds I understood that the writer is either, not a native or not a well trained one.
"STUDY SKILLS" by Richard C.Vorkey. This is exactly how the cover of the book looks like, with the "Caps Lock" on and yes, C.Vorkey instead of Yorkey, which is the real and the correct family name of the writer. My problem is not with the front page, but with the opening paragraph of "Chapter 4: Writing an outline . 77" which reads like this :
Outline is a useful skill to learn because it can be used in both your reading and your writing. In this chapter we will consider what an outline is and what it can be used for. We will then look at the form of two types of outlines. There will then be the chance to practice writing each type. ...
The reddened and Italicized sentence, is my problem.not the lack of indentation at the beginning of the paragraph or the use of "both" part. I think that sentence should be like:
We will then look at the forms of two types of outlines.Which one is grammatically correct? Oh and you are most welcome to correct my sentences here and I have to say that I will be enjoying it.Thanks a lot.
