A simple form verb plus an "-ing" verb can't be mixed together?

"It's better to ENJOY yourself when you're young than to WORRY time worrying about the future!"

If the first verb is a simple form, the second one must also follow that same form then?

Thank you

Could you mean "WASTE time"? I would call these infinitives rather than "simple form," but I agree that parallel verb forms should be observed in this structure.
