"A show of" / "A show by"

Hello!

If I want to speak about an art exhibition that presents artworks realized by a single artist, which way is the most appropriate way? Are they both acceptable?

"...the first solo show of Mary May in Milan."

or

"...the first solo show by Mary May in Milan"

Thanks a lot in advance!
