A short text to correct

Hello. Could you please help me to correct the text below?

'I am writing to you as there is a problem about the car, which I have bought from you. I should have been informed

about a/the structural defect of the car before the official purchase procedure. There is a problem of longitudinal

imbalance due to, without doubt, a former repair of the suspension.

I should have been informed about this problem as it would have surely changed my decision about buying the car.'

I am looking for a formal term connected with buing things, I think we say 'in its current state';

How should we put it when we want to refer this term to the past, for example:

'I know I have bought the car 'in its current state' but I was not informed about the latent defect, which would have surely prevented me from buying the car'.

I would appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

Dear Shadok, I hope that my suggestions below will help you refine your letter. It is important to specify the date of purchase and the make and model of the automobile you bought. Also, it would be helpful to give more details about the defects you allege were undisclosed when you purchased the car.

  • The term "longitudinal imbalance" is quite vague.
  • Personally, I haven't the slightest idea what that means.
