A short, informal message

Howdy,

Could someone please check if the following, extremely informal message makes sense? I'm particularly uncertain about this sponge off on sb I'm not sure if native speakers use it in the continuous form...

wanted to let you know that I got home safe and sound, yeah, I know - as if you were interested what are you up to these days? guess I know anyways, r u still in your village sponging off on your family? just kidding of course. yeah, just to forestall your question - I do miss Greece/Patra and... stuff! <depressed> talk to you soon but this time on msn or who knows where, maybe in person! hugs and hugs (yeah, I know you'd like some kisses so here you are :*)
