A serious side to/of Peter's personality

Many of Peter's friends think he's a goofball. He enjoys doing crazy stunts. And he often makes a fool of himself in the process. But there is also a serious side to Peter's personality.

Hi,
Is it all right and about the same to say "a serious side of Peter's personality" instead of "a serious side to ..." in the above? Thanks.

Thanks, Mister.

To make sure, does "to" in question mean "about/concerning?"

I'd say to = 'used to indicate appropriation or possession: looked for the top to the jar.''
