A sentence which crushed me...

Here it is:

the underlined part... I don't get it... at all...

Bad writing, that's all, IMO. This being said, low-lift cam is an established term, shown at Yahoo, as is negative valve overlap . But wouldn't be able to tell you what they mean.

This being said, low-lift cam is an established term, shown at Yahoo, as is

But wouldn't be able to tell you what they mean.

It basically says that the engine has both internal and external EGR, which are produced by using negative valve overlap and low-lift cams.

I'm not a mechanical engineer, thus can't explain it more to you.
