a sentence/ more questions

Dear Teachers, please see an example sentence below

Last night, Tom went back to his home to meet Jim at there and then they went out for dinner.

(1.) "Last night," this position including a comma is ok?

(2.) "at there" or there?

(3.) "and then" or use any other conjunction to replace it, would be better?

[i'd like to mean that they met together at Tom's house and immediately they went out]

(4.) "went" is a repeated word, should we use any other word?

(5.) "dinner" or "a dinner" different meaning?

(1.) "Last night," this position including a comma is ok? Yes.

(2.) "at there" or there? 'There'', not 'at there'. But I'd just say 'to meet Jim'.
