A sentence involving the words nothing else + more + than

Please check the grammar of the sentence given below. I have written it in an article that I have sent off to a journal. But I keep have this nagging feeling that it has grammatical errors in it. Still, I am not sure. Please tell me if my feeling is right or wrong. If the grammar is wrong, please tell me how to correct it.

That is perhaps why nothing else makes us more aware of the vastness of the universe, in terms of space, than the phenomenon of light.

There are certainly other ways to write it, but the original sentence seems quite acceptable to me.

Dear Maple,

Thank you for your prompt response. Of the three alternatives you have given, I find the third one to be most appropriate. That is because it is absolutely necessary that the sentence should have a reference to 'space' in it. I have translated, into English, an essay originally written in the South Indian langauge of Kannada, and this sentence is from that essay.
