A sentence

Is this sentence correct:
[The joker]Tends to be small with skinny legs, narrow soulders, a head that's too big for his body and a sharp tongue.
? I thought we cannot use the that word if the word before plays a role of subject, and that we have to use the which word in this case. Was I wrong?

Top answer

You are wrong; both 'that' and 'which' can be used. The sentence, however, needs other work: The joker tends to be small with skinny legs and have narrow shoulders, a head that's too big for his body , and a sharp tongue. As for that and which , these are all OK: The dog which was chewing on my leg was rabid.
