I was wondering if the use of 'slander' is correct in this sentence?
From what I read in translation in the comment section below there is much slander of her vocal abilities.
The dictionary says that it refers to a spoken statement intended to damage good opinion people have of somebody. In this sentence it is a written statement. Is it correct?

I think this is an incorrect use of the word. When you slander someone, you are saying something that is damaging and untrue. Here it is just expressing an opinion.
If you are reading it, then it is not slander. As in your post, 'slander' refers to defamation in a transitory medium (spoken, signed, gestured, etc.) and 'libel' is for defamation in fixed mediums (writing, images, etc.). Despite the fact that comments are often written in a fashion that emulates speech, they are still in a fixed medium and result in 'libel'. So, y
