A seed is a preliminary ranking that can be used in arranging a sports tournament

I came across this headline on Google news:

Sixth seeded pair of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Rohan Bopanna, were beaten by the unseeded Argentine-Brazlian duo of Juan Ignacio Chela and Bruno Soares 6-2, 6-7(4), 10-7 in the Monte Carlo ATP Masters Tennis Championship semi-final.

Seed (sports)
A seed is a preliminary ranking that can be used in arranging a sports tournament. It is called a seed because of the analogy with plants where the seed might grow into a top rank at the end of that tournament, or might instead wither away. Players/teams are 'planted' into the bracket in a manner that is typically intended so that the best don't meet until later in the competition.

What does the "Sixth seeded" and "unseeded" in the above context? Please guide me. Thanks.
