A river runs through it

Hi. Can someone help me analyze this part of the book A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean. Can someone help me find out what the author really means and help me describe the diction, motif, movement . . . I don't know what the author is trying to say. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

~Thanks

Hi Shay, The above address takes me to a page called "image shack" - nothing about River runs through it.
