A reminder

Hi,

I've to write a reminder note to post it in the bathroom. But I don't know how to write correctly to express the meaning in English.

The content is like this:

- since the amount of water coming out from the water tap is so "much" that the water always spill over the sink when people just push the lever, so i'd like to write a note to remind people to slighty and push the lever gently in order to avoid the water spilling out.

Could you help to write a short note for me? Thanks!

Hi,

How about this, "Please gently push up the lever to avoid water spill"?

Pls help to correct the grammar and make it sounds more natural. Thank you!
