Matter____up of minute particles_____atoms, and atoms are composed of even smaller components.
a)Made/called
b)is made/ called
c)has made/ called
d)is made/ is called
e)made/ has called

the answer is "b" but i didnt get it. Shouldnt it be "made/ is called" could you explain me if it is b?

A is no good because the clause before 'and' must be an independent one. 'Matter' cannot 'make' anything, so the blank must hold a passive verb form ('is made').

called = which are called = which we call = which have the name = which we name

So "minute particles called atoms" = "m
