A recipe for "the"

How come the word "the" is used in "Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients" but not in "Mix ingredients well"?

Thank you. So would "Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients" and "Mix the ingredients well" be just as correct as the other forms with and without "the"? Is it true that once one of these forms is used, the writer should stick to that form, and avoid the other one?
