I would like to suggest an alternative way of expressing an idea that's somewhat similar to the quote being discussed above:

In order to make your dreams come true, you have to wake up!

(I think the opposite of "to dream" here is "to stay awake" rather than "to be awake".
I also think "whereas" is a fairly stodgy word th
