A quick question

What is actually meant by "develop" in the following context?

Context:

"My colleague worked in Team A to develop a program for the project"

Does it mean that the team created programs, or does it simply indicate the program already existed and it was just fine-tuned (tweaked to meet the project requirements)?

Thanks!

Hi, It can mean that he developed it for the team, or that the whole team developed it. It's not clear. It can mean he/they created it.

Thanks Clive! "He worked with Team A to develop the program" simply implies that the team made it more systematic, right?

No. I explained that 'develop' might also mean 'create'.

He worked in Team A - he was part of the team

OK. Would "He worked in Team A, and developed the existing program for the project" make it more clear that he was in Team A and he/Team made the program systematic?

The program wasn't created. It was just fine-tuned to meet the requirements and I actually intended to convey that it was fine-tuned. I already said it and I'm just concerned that if word "develop" conveyed the right m

My very first post in this thread was not clear at all! I actually intended to say '"would " ..." make it clear' and not 'more clear'
