A question of the word"if"
Hello, i was reading The Heart Of Darkness, and i saw a sentence contained the word "if" , which i m not pretty sure about it.
it was like: The report is eloquent and powerful, if lacking in practical suggestions.
well, i speculate that the word 'if' means 'but',but i dont know my speculation is correct or not, so, could anyone helps me figure it out?
