A Question of Plurality...

“Other cities should be allowed to put on their own Passion Play (Plays).

Should ‘Play’ be singular or plural? The meaning of the sentence is that there’s one ‘Passion Play’, but there’re different performances of it, by different theatre companies, in different cities, at any one time.
