A question concerning the usage of the Article

A man suffering from a chock should be given _____.
A. hot sweet tea B. a hot sweet tea C. the hot sweet tea D. one hot sweet tea

The key is "C". But I think now that we can say "a coffee" or "three coffees", why don't we say "a hot sweet tea". If we can't say "a tea", why don't we choose "A" (hot sweet tea)? Thanks.

I think you mean "A man suffering from SHOCK should be given ___", not "suffering from A CHOCK"!
You say the "key" is C, "THE hot sweet tea". If you mean that that's the right answer, I disagree.
A man suffering from shock should be given HOT SWEET TEA. The right answer is A.

You can say "Give me A COFFEE" because that's an accepted shortened form of "Give me a CUP OF coffe
